I'm really proud for my latest finding! Searching through Etsy for some decorating ideas, I found this small shop called Cirque De Art. Very unique handmade prints with black and white drawings and retro illustrations, printed on pages from an antique British book from 1899 entitled 'Amateur Gardening'.
Vanessa, the lovely owner of the shop, said to me a few word about her art work and how much she enjoys doing it.
''I find a great enjoyment in the process of digital collage and especially like to combine inky, black and white drawings with block colour. The old book pages make the perfect contrast as the backgrounds of my prints, with their warm, aged tones. For my inspiration I like to trawl through antique and flea markets picking out interesting, old, dusty books which no one cares about and then give them a new life. I am also attracted to quirky items like teacups, glass bottles, old suitcases and empty vintage picture frames. I have always been infinitely inspired by flowers, plants, animals and birds. I have started a small collection of old books now and hope to add many more prints to my shop over the coming weeks. Including many more animals.... and more teacups!''
Below are my two purchases from Cirque De Art and the freebie dog I got , that is actually printed on a page with french recipes for cheese cake and macaroons!!
Hope you like them as much as I do!
Lorelai.
