Guest Post-Mojitea // Iced tea mocktail

June 3, 2015

I’m a big tea drinker, but with summer approaching, I feel less inclined to drinking piping hot cups of tea. I need something more refreshing so I naturally turn to iced tea. I used to live in a town that had a pretty rad tea shop which made a delicious iced tea mocktail, called the mojitea (isn’t it a great name?), but now that I moved out, I can’t go there and enjoy it as often as I’d like anymore. So I decided to recreate it at home! Turns out it is super easy, and so delicious and refreshing that I’ll be enjoying it all summer long!

To make a mojitea, you need to brew some iced tea first. For 1 litre of iced tea you’ll need:
- 4 tbsp (or 2 teabags) mint flavoured green tea (for other uses, you can make iced tea with
any of your favourite tea! But use mint or unflavoured green tea for the mojitea)
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 1 litre cold water (4 cups)
Mix all the ingredients in a pitcher and refrigerate overnight.  Strain and discard (or compost!) the tealeaves, and voila, your iced tea is ready!
Now prepare your drink. For 1 serving of mojitea, you’ll need:
- 2 quarters of a lime (choose organic if possible as non-organic ones have their skins treated with chemicals)
- 1 tbsp cane sugar
- The leaves of 1 mint sprig
- Mint iced tea (you’ll need a bit less than a cup to 1 cup tea per drink, or 200 to 250 ml, depending how big your glass is)
- Ice cubes
In a big glass, muddle the sugar, mint and lime. Add a few iced cubes and top with iced tea. Done!
Now all you have to do is to enjoy your drink in a sunny place! Drink with a straw, muddling the lime and mint and mixing the sugar as you go!

For a sparkling version, brew a stronger iced tea (increase the tea by 1 tbsp or use 3 cups of water) and top the mint and lime mix with 2/3 iced tea and 1/3 sparkling water.

 Happy summer nights to everyone!

Hello Sailor

(big thanx to Marina for the photos)

Hello friends! Yes, I have some pretty exciting news...well in case you haven't seen it already on my instagram or facebook account I'm nominated for this year's Marie Claire Blog Awards, in the category High Street Heroes. (*ridiculously big smile on my face right now*). Two weeks ago the first To know us better lunch took place in a colorful garden in Athens, and I was so excited to finally meet the girls I only knew via their blogs, and the social media. Also we had a chance to talk with the lovely ladies of VIVIFY, which is the sponsor on our category. Vivify is a innovative beauty lab (with four beauty salons in Thessaloniki and Athens) that specializes on scientific Cosmetology. Last Friday I had the opportunity to visit in person, their salon in Thessaloniki, and I got my self the best beauty-relaxing treatment like ever! The girls chose the most suitable facial treatment, based on my skin needs, and I only had to seat back (actually if I could steal their massage chair, I would have done it, no doubt!) and enjoy the most relaxing two hours ever!  I can say for sure that I was feeling so much lighter and definitely more refreshed after my mini therapy.I can't wait for my second Vivify session...it will be all about the body, so stay tuned for more info! Until then check out all the categories and the nominees HERE. Also find me on Instagram & Facebook and stay tuned for updates, award news, activities and events. (Plus the hashtags #mcblogawards15 #blogawards #vivify  #vivifythebeautylab will keep updated on instagram.)

Cheers! ♥♥
